'The Bachelor' Season 22 Updates: Arie Luyendyk Jr.'s First Promo Teaser Released By ABC
ABC just launched the first teaser for season 22 of "The Bachelor," and it seems like Arie Luyendyk Jr. is on track to find his true love on national television.
E! News posted an exclusive promo trailer for the upcoming installment of the long-running dating reality show, where the race car driver was seen looking all geared up for his return to the franchise.
Luyendyk was first introduced in "The Bachelorette" season 8, where he ended up as the runner up during Emily Maynard's season in 2012.
In a guesting stint at "Good Morning America," Luyendyk admitted that he was surprised to get the call from the show's producers about his stint in the upcoming season.
"I was a little skeptical because we'd been in talks for a few years about doing it, so I just kind of went into it with an open heart, an open mind," the 35-year-old Bachelor said during the interview. "It just hit me that yeah, I'm here."
Meanwhile, a source reportedly told Us Weekly that Luyendyk's ex-girlfriend Sydney Stempfley signed up for the next season of "The Bachelor" before the network made the announcement about his participation in the show.
"She actually applied to be on this season herself after her breakup with Arie," the source reportedly stated. "She said she did that before she knew Arie would be the Bachelor."
The former couple was said to have dated for a year before deciding to part ways in July, several weeks before he was named as the next Bachelor. But despite the new knowledge that she will have to encounter her ex-boyfriend once again and fight among the other contestants for his attention, the 26-year-old receptionist still wants to join the next installment of the reality series.
Luyendyk's stint in "The Bachelor" season 22 will begin in early January 2018.
