'The Bachelor Winter Games' News: 'The Bachelorette' Star Peter Kraus Confirmed to Compete in Spinoff
"The Bachelorette" star Peter Kraus is set to return to have his second shot at finding love in "The Bachelor Winter Games." The news was confirmed earlier this week by the creator of the reality dating franchise, Mike Fleiss, who took to Twitter to make the big announcement.
Over on Twitter, Fleiss initially tweeted, "I will be making a major announcement regarding #TheBachelor in the next couple of hours!!!" It was only after a few more hours that he confirmed the return of Kraus in the franchise.
Kraus was one of the most fan-favorite stars of his batch, but Rachel Lindsay ended up choosing Bryan Abasalo over the rest of the bachelors. Kraus ended up as a runner-up in the show and was a candidate in the 22nd season of "The Bachelor," but the gig was ultimately given to Arie Luyendyk Jr.
Lindsay and Kraus had a tearful breakup in "The Bachelorette" season 13, as Kraus told Lindsay that he couldn't promise that he'd propose to her if she chose him. "I don't know how many times to say it. I just want somebody who wants what I want and then wants that with me," said Lindsay. In response to her, Kraus said, "I'm sorry that it's taking me this long."
Although Luyendyk stole the "Bachelor" gig from Kraus, the latter is now set to compete in the "Bachelor" spinoff "The Bachelor Winter Games," which will represent 12 nations, according to Fleiss.
"Yes, Peter will be looking for love—and going for the gold—on #TheBachelor Winter Games!!! In celebration of #TheBachelor being the world's No. 1 show, at least 12 different nations will be represented at The Winter Games!!!" tweeted Fleiss.
"The Bachelor Winter Games," which was first announced in May, will premiere in February 2018 on ABC, coinciding with next year's Winter Olympics.
