'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11: CBS Nearing a Deal as Contract Negotiations for Two More Seasons Continue

It looks like season 10 will not be the end for "The Big Bang Theory" as a new report states that CBS is close to renewing the series for two more seasons.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network is already negotiating a deal with the show's five main stars: Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar. This does not come as a surprise since a number of cast members have expressed their desire to return for another season or so.

A deal, which involves a two-year contract and pay raises, is apparently close to being made. Parsons, Galecki, and Cuoco already earn $1 million per episode each, and their salaries would remain the same for the two-season renewal. However, Helberg and Nayyar - who are currently earning less than the other three - are now also projected to earn $1 million per episode for the next two seasons. As for the other cast members, Melissa Rauch and Mayim Bialik, the media outlet reports that they are also looking at substantial pay raises as part of the deal.

Leslie Moonves, CEO of CBS Corporation, revealed on Wednesday during an earnings call that talks were coming to a close. "The Big Bang Theory" is projected to have a production cost of $10 million per episode, but the network is poised to cover the majority of this.

Parsons spoke to the "Today Show" last week and said he would be "shocked" if the show ends up getting canceled.

It is no secret that CBS has wanted to renew "The Big Bang Theory" for a while now, and it looks like negotiating contracts was the only thing getting in their way. CBS Entertainment president Glenn Geller has been known to be vocal about his wish to continue the series for as long as fans would have them. And with this latest development, fans are undoubtedly happy that they will see the gang for another two seasons.
