'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Spoilers: Leonard Worries About Getting Fired in Episode 2
Leonard (Johnny Galecki) must face the consequences of his radio show interview on the upcoming episode of "The Big Bang Theory" season 11.
Titled "The Retraction Reaction," next week's episode will see Leonard anger the university, as well as the whole physics community, after his embarrassing radio interview. Amy (Mayim BIalik) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) get together and hide their success from Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Howard (Simon Helberg).
The promo opens with Leonard talking to his friends about his problem. He also wonders what life would be if he was no longer a physicist. Penny (Kaley Cuoco) gives the guys a pep talk and tells them that they will always be physicists no matter what happens.
Monday's season 11 premiere of the CBS sitcom picked up exactly where the previous installment left off, with Sheldon proposing to a shocked Amy. As expected, she accepted his proposal — which means it's only a matter of time before fans will see another wedding in the show.
Another major development from the opener seemed like a repeat, as Howard and Bernadette discovered they are expecting again. This time around, the couple does not appear too excited given that they still have a baby to take care of.
Speaking with TVLine, new showrunner Steve Holland explained why he and the other producers decided to make Rauch's real-life pregnancy a part of the show so soon after Bernadette gave birth to her first child.
"We could obviously hide it by putting her behind couches and counters and laundry baskets," he said. "But then we thought [a surprise second baby] could be a really interesting curveball to throw at Howard and Bernadette. It's just so unexpected; it presents a lot of exciting story opportunities."
"The Big Bang Theory" season 11 airs every Monday night at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
