'The Big Bang Theory' Season 9 – The big day finally arrives in Las Vegas, Leonard and Penny elope to get married!
Season nine of "The Big Bang Theory" will open with the much anticipated wedding that is happening in Las Vegas – the Leonard and Penny wedding. Sheldon is going to feel disconsolate and the first four episodes will deal with the new living arrangements. This season will also deal with the not-so-smooth married life of Leonard and Penny.
Show creator Steve Molaro tells The Hollywood Reporter that the Leonard-Penny wedding is inevitable and cannot be postponed. He says, "It's season nine and Leonard has been pursuing her since minute three of the series. Even Penny, with all of her commitment issues, is in a mindset of, 'Are we moving forward with this or not? What are we doing?' And they do."
The wedding is not all fun and flowers and families coming together. Penny thinks for now she is ok with the fact that Leonard had kissed Mandy, but as the season plays out, she realises she is not ok. This is going to put a spoke in their marriage. Then there is the question of what to do with Sheldon. Where is Sheldon going to stay? Who will move out? Will they be all together?
Molaro says, "Living arrangements are definitely going to be confronted in the first four episodes. It's tricky, sure — Leonard and Penny need to move forward, but at the same time we have a broken-hearted Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who is sort of their little brother and child and it's tough to ignore that for them."
In the upcoming season, viewers will finally meet Penny's father Keith Carradine and how he reacts to them eloping to get married in Las Vegas. Steve Molaro is confident that the episode has turned out beautifully and was full of praise for Johnny and Kaley. From some of the wedding snaps, we can see that Penny is looking radiant in a powder pink simple wedding dress with a pink and silver posy.
Season 9 of "The Big Bang Theory" returns on Monday, Sept. 21 at 8 p.m.
