'The Blacklist' season 3 plot news: Red is Liz's father?
The NBC crime series "The Blacklist" will soon return to television for its third season.
It was reported that the season will explore darker themes with the stars Megan Boone as Elizabeth "Liz" Keen and James Spader as Raymond "Red" Reddington. While there has not been confirmed details on the plot yet, viewers have several predictions on the happenings of the upcoming season.
Movie Plot reported that there is a possibility that Liz will develop real feelings for her fake husband Tom. This will further complicate her story, as well as add a romantic flair to the season.
While it was shown that Liz allegedly killer her father, fans remain skeptical about this. There were also hints on the likelihood that Red could actually be Liz's biological father. This will provide a twist to the series, as fans have been sensing a romantic tension between the two. Despite the rumors of Red being Liz's father, the season will definitely explore the relationship between the two characters.
Even Boone herself shared details on what to expect on the third season, as she said, "Season 3 is going to be the same characters but a different show, a very different topic. Because now Liz Keen is no longer working within the law. If you break open the entire task force, then it will be challenging to try to find the procedural aspect of the show again."
Robert Greenblastt also explained that the show will excite audience as it will reinvent its format. He hinted that the show is expected to go in "a really fun, new direction."
The Blacklist season 3 was originally scheduled for release on Sep. 24; however, it was delayed by NBC in order to make way for the premiere of series "Heroes Reborn." The hit series will return with its third season this Oct. 1.
