The second half of "The Blacklist" season 3 will be seeing the return of a familiar character.

It was reported that someone from season 1 will be making a comeback in the upcoming season of "The Blacklist." Margarita Levieva will be reprising her role as Gina Zanetakos.

Her first appearance in the series proved to be a challenge for Liz, played by Megan Boone. It was revealed that Gina was a spy and assasin who also happened to be Liz's husband's ex-lover.

However, there have yet to be more details regarding what she will be doing in the upcoming episodes. Nevertheless, fans are excited to see how her presence will spice up the dynamics between Liz and her husband Tom, played by Ryan Eggold.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a few episodes into the return of the series before they get a chance to see Gina once again. It was reported that her re-introduction will take place in an episode that will be aired in February.

Nevertheless, fans can expect that the midseason premiere of "The Blacklist" season 3 will bring action. The upcoming episode will be titled "The Director," which will have Liz in an interesting situation.

The synopsis for the episode reads, "While Liz (Megan Boone) awaits trial Red (James Spader) and Aram (Amir Arison) take bold measures to ensure her protection."

The executive producer of the series, Jon Bokenkamp, recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming return of the series. He stated, "The next two episodes are [about] the Director. It's a two-parter. His plan is less about just her safety, and more about leveling the playing field. What the audience is going to see is we've been laying in these breadcrumbs over the past eight episodes."

"The Blacklist" season 3 will return on NBC this Jan. 7.
