'The Blacklist' Season 5 Episode 4 Spoilers: Tom Digs Deep in the Skeleton Mystery
Tom's (Ryan Eggold) investigation on who the owner of the mysterious bones is will continue in the upcoming episode of "The Blacklist."
In the episode titled "The Endling," the synopsis reveals that Tom will try to learn more about the skeleton inside the suitcase he stole from Red (James Spader). Ever since he got his hands on the set of bones, Tom has been nothing but curious about its owner. So far, he has yet to find a lead, and he is running out of time. It will not be long until Red discovers that Tom is the one who has the valise. Tom will also have to tell Liz (Megan Boone) about it eventually.
Executive producer Jon Bokenkamp recently spoke about the importance of the skeleton to the storyline. According to him, it is going to present "some real problems" for the characters involved. He also spoke about the potential repercussions of Tom keeping the secret from his wife. In his defense, Tom is only looking out for Liz's safety. Still, his decision to keep the suitcase and not tell her about its content will cause marital strife for them.

"Right, but in this case, she realizes that this man is her father and she is closer to him than she probably ever has been. She trusts Reddington more and is more open to him. So, the idea that Tom should follow through with the instructions of handing the suitcase over to Liz, as Mr. Kaplan instructed, Mr. Kaplan didn't know that the secret is out and Tom is a little bit worried that Reddington might manipulate the situation, as he often does, and he feels like he needs to solve this on his own," the EP teased.
Meanwhile, the episode will also see Liz and the Task Force will be busy tracking down a criminal who plans to destroy some of the world's most precious treasures. The Blacklister is proving to be an elusive prey. The group has to work hard to capture him before it is too late. As for Red, he is willing to do everything to salvage his empire. A surprise meeting will reportedly lead him to a new business opportunity that he will grasp with both hands.
"The Blacklist" season 5 airs Wednesdays, at 8 p.m. EDT on NBC.
