'The Chosen' cast reveal what's in store for them in season 4: 'There's a lot of joy and sadness'
Quintus
Brandon Potter, who plays the fictional Roman magistrate Quintus, revealed that his character, initially amused by Jesus' followers, now sees them as a problem for Roman governance. Season 4 explores the dangerous alliances formed due to the perceived threat of Jesus.
“In seasons one through three, my character Quintus, who's a Roman magistrate, sort of looks at this Jesus guy and His accumulation of followers as kind of an amusement or distraction for the people,” he said.
“And as His influence grows, it's becoming a problem. He's attracted folks to the tent city, which is disrupting tax revenue. So it’s a logistical governance problem; this is no longer a distraction for the people. This is a problem for me. And what we're starting to see in season four now, is that Jesus has made enemies in the Jewish community, and He's made enemies among the Romans. And sooner or later, they will do the unthinkable and start to ally with one another. That's how dangerous they think Jesus is. So in season four, we're getting to a boiling point. Jesus has made these enemies and something's gotta give sooner or later.”
