'The Crown' Season 3 Spoilers, Plot, Cast News: Camilla to be Introduced; Claire Foy Knows New Queen Elizabeth

"The Crown" season 3 is rounding up new cast members as production nears and a familiar name will be introduced. Prince Charles' longtime love and future second wife, Camilla, will be featured in the upcoming season, while star Claire Foy reveals she knows the actress who will take over her role as Queen Elizabeth.

"The Crown" season 3 will enter the 1970's era and in real life, this was the decade when Prince Charles met Camilla Rosemary Shand, who went on to marry Andrew Parker Bowles. Producer Suzanne Mackie confirmed the introduction of the future Duchess of Cornwall in the upcoming season in a radio interview.

"You start meeting Camilla Parker Bowles in season three," Mackie said. "We have to be honest, season three and four are being mapped out."

Camilla first dated Prince Charles in the '70s but both ended up marrying someone else despite their relationship. Conflicting stories abound as to why their love affair ended during those years. Royal biographers pointed to one likely reason in that Queen Elizabeth saw Camilla as unsuitable as the wife of the future king.

Speaking of Queen Elizabeth, Claire Foy, who played the role for two seasons of "The Crown," revealed she already knows who replaced her in season 3. The actress knew before signing on for the series that as the storylines and timeline progress, the role of Queen Elizabeth will be played by at least three different actresses.

"I know who's doing it and I'm not telling you," Foy teased the press at the BFI London Film Festival. "It's really exciting and great and amazing!"

Viewers, however, will still see Foy play Queen Elizabeth in "The Crown" season 2, which arrives on Netflix on Friday, Dec. 8 at 3:00 am EST. The upcoming show will depict the Queen's public and personal life in the 1960's, which will also have a glimpse of U.S. President John F. Kennedy (Michael C. Hall).

"The Crown" season 3, meanwhile, could arrive on the streaming platform in late 2018 or early 2019. Casting announcements for the new Queen Elizabeth and Camilla will likely come after season 2's launch.
