'The Elder Scrolls Online' for Consoles Gets Massive Patch
Barely a month after the game's release for next-generation consoles, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, "The Elder Scrolls Online" received a huge patch recently, according to reports.
Patch v01.04 for the PlayStation 4 is pegged at a huge file size of 15.9 GB. According to the game's developer, this particular patch also includes patch v01.01 to patch v01.03. The patch's huge size is however causing some problems with downloads and the developer has already apologized and promised that the next patches will not be cumulative for easier downloads. This particular patch is said to address over-all game performance and fixes common in-game crashes.
The fixes for the PlayStation 4 include "game crashes while on a mount," Tech Times reported. It also allows game input to remain enabled "while pulling up the PSN overlays." It also addresses the bypassing of the Realm Select screen, which earlier resulted in going directly to the Character Select screen.
For the Xbox One, patch v1.0.0.5 is said to improve the game's queue system screen. It is also said to reduce the "frequency of disappearing NPCs and address several issues related to some animations and gameplay."
Additional fixes on the Xbox One platform include the crashing of the game when switching from one account to another. It also addresses an earlier problem of players "being stuck at a loading screen when using connected standby in the Xbox One options and the Voice Chat IDs on loading screens." In the Voice Chat menu, the Add Friend option issues is also said to be fixed by this patch.
A more complete list of fixes for the both patches can be found on the game's forum site.
The report also included an important maintenance announcement for console players on June 29 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT. Those on the Xbox One and the PS4 will not be able to log in during the five-hour period.
