'The Elder Scrolls Online' News: Update 16 to Bring Xbox One X Support, New Battleground Game Mode

Update 16 will be made available to players for free

A new update, Update 16, is coming soon to "The Elder Scrolls Online" and players can look forward to it bringing some notable additions.

One of the key features of Update 16 is something players on a certain console will be able to appreciate.

Announced just recently via Twitter, Update 16 will bring Xbox One X support. That mid-generation console has not been released just yet, but now, those players planning to get it can rest assured that the game will be able to take advantage of its impressive specs and features.

Update 16 contains more than just Xbox One X support, however, and there are other things in it that may be of interest to all players regardless of platform.

The published Public Test Server patch notes for Update 16 point to the other significant additions that "The Elder Scrolls Online" players can get from the free downloadable.

For instance, players are going to get a new Battleground game mode courtesy of the aforementioned update. Known as Crazy King, this new mode has been described as something that is similar to Domination, but with the dial turned up to some degree.

Once a round of Crazy King begins, players should see a capture point pop up in the center of the map. A second one will show up after that and then the original capture point will be moved after a while. The capture points will just continue to move as the round goes on and players are going to have to adjust to them.

Developers are also set to introduce Transmutation via Update 16, and this addition should provide players with a new way to tailor the game to their preferences.

An exact release date for Update 16 has not been shared just yet, though "The Elder Scrolls Online" players can expect it to arrive later this year.
