'The Evil Within 2' Trailer News: More Scenes Revealed From Dark Story of Upcoming Horror Survival Game
"The Evil Within 2" has a new trailer, as Bethesda shows off more cinematic and in-game footage in their latest promo clip. The upcoming survival horror game is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Oct. 13.
Right away, viewers will see the game's "Resident Evil" roots as directed by Shinji Mikami's studio, Tango Gameworks. The trailer shows some of the horrors that the main character Sebastian Castellanos will shoot, punch, or set on fire as he goes off in pursuit of STEM to rescue his daughter Lily.
"The Evil Within 2" is set about three years from the story of the first game, as players once again guide Sebastian Castellanos. He learns that his daughter, Lily, is still alive, and he packs on some hardware and heads off into the STEM and its twisted world to rescue her, as summarized by Gamespot.
Once there, he will encounter the usual horrors: zombies, zombies on fire, zombies with flamethrowers, zombies with tentacles on their faces, and more monsters along that line. The clip also shows a few unexpected allies along the way, as well.
Things like huge chasms opening around his feet or massive tentacles hundreds of feet long will not stop him from trying to save his daughter. The new villain, though, is another story.
A photographer named Stefano Valentini, a man described by Bethesda as "an artist with dark proclivities and unbounded imagination," is the latest among the sadistic humans that will give any of the STEM grotesque monstrosities a run for their money.
Players better brace themselves for the "art pieces" created by this maniac, foremost among them the horrific Obscura, a tormented being "sculpted from blood and bone and flesh." With Lily in the sights of this madman, Castellanos has little time to lose.
The clip below shows new scenes and gameplay shots from Bethesda's upcoming horror game "The Evil Within 2," coming to consoles and PC next month.
