'The Exorcist' Season 2 News: Fox Unveils Chilling New Poster for Upcoming Installment

Evil has a new home when "The Exorcist" returns for season 2.

Fox has released a new key art and more promotional photos for the horror drama's latest installment, according to reports. The poster shows newcomer Brianna Hildebrand ("Deadpool") screaming in profile as strands of her hair rise up, which resembles the haunting forest that will be the show's new setting.

The new promo images, on the other hand, focuses on Father Ortega (Alfonso Herrera) and Cindy (Zibby Allen) as it features a less suggestive kind of horror. One photo shows a wounded and demon-possessed Cindy biting into the hand of a priest who is trying to calm her down.

Another image features Cindy doing the iconic "spiderwalk" that became popular in the original 1973 film. Father Ortega is seen in the background, quoting scripture from the Bible to drive away the demon taking over Cindy's body.

It was previously announced that Herrera, Daniels and Kurt Egyiawan are the only season 1 regulars to return to the series. The latest additions for this coming installment are Hildrebrand and John Cho ("Star Trek"). In a recent interview, Cho said his presence on the show is just a small part of a much bigger debut: one of an Asian actor portraying a major role in a horror franchise.

Season 2 picks up with Father Ortega and Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels) leaving Chicago to look for new cases in the Pacific Northwest. They cross paths with Andre Kim (Cho), an ex-child psychologist who runs a group home for troubled kids. One of those children gets possessed, so the priests head to the foster home to deal with their problem.

Based on William Peter Blatty's bestselling novels, "The Exorcist" debuted in September 2016. It featured a stellar cast lineup, including Geena Davis ("Beetlejuice"), Brianne Howey ("Scream Queens"), Alan Ruck ("Ferris Bueller's Day Off") and Hannah Kasulka ("The Fosters").

"The Exorcist" season 2 premieres Friday, Sept. 29, at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
