During the UNITAS Gala against Sex Trafficking in New York City, actress Michelle Rodriguez revealed details about the upcoming movie, as well as the late Paul Walker. Rodriguez mentioned Paul's passion for racing.
She shared that it was their constant reminder to bring the movie back to its core. She explained that Walker had disliked the special effects and blue screens because he was so set on pure racing as the movie's focus.
With that, the upcoming film is expected to do just that. It was revealed that "The Fast and the Furious 8" will reflect Paul Walker's ideas and values when tackling the franchise. Therefore, it will avoid the intense plot lines and overdone explosion.
It was revealed that the director of the film is F. Gary Grey, who worked on the recent film "Straight Outta Compton." During "The Tonight's Show with Jimmy Fallon," actor Vin Diesel shared some details about the upcoming film. He explained that the story will take place in New York. The film is expected to be a part of a trilogy for the franchise. Diesel was close to Walker, so he also shared some details about their friendship.
The film could also see the return of Jordana Brewster. She is expected to reprise her role as Mia. She will be joined by the rest of the cast including Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Jason Statham.
