'The Flash' Movie News: Cyborg to Join Scarlet Speedster in the Movie?
While it is true that DC fans are looking forward to the release of the "Justice League" movies, fans of the individual DC superheroes are excitedly awaiting their respective standalone features as well. One of the most anticipated DCEU films, without question, is Ezra Miller's "The Flash," which is slated for a March 16, 2018 release. However, the latest report suggests that the movie will not just feature the Scarlet Speedster but Ray Fisher's Cyborg character as well.
Even before "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" broke box-office records, DC and Warner Bros. have already mapped out their plans of expanding the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). The lineup of DC and Warner Bros. includes two "Justice League" movies, "Suicide Squad," "Green Lantern Corps," Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman," Jason Momoa's "Aquaman," Dwayne Johnson's "Shazam," "Fisher's "Cyborg," and Miller's "The Flash." Reading between the lines of "The Flash" producer Deborah Snyder in an interview with Forbes, though, it seems that Miller's "The Flash" will feature Fisher's Cyborg character as well.
"David Ayer's Suicide Squad has such an amazing, brash tone. It's fun and it's about the villains, and it's super-different than Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman, which is an origin story and tells her story. As you can imagine, when we get to the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher — who plays Cyborg — are kind of our youngest characters, and they have a really nice comradery (camaraderie) with each other. Ezra is super funny, so the tone of that film will be very different than the rest of them," she revealed.
Collider opined that, should Cyborg be, indeed, included in "The Flash," the move will be in sync with how DC works in building its extended universe. It cited the cases of Wonder Woman who was already introduced in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" and Ben Affleck's Batman, which will also make a cameo in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" as a way of building a cinematic landscape that will make it possible for the DC characters to crossover.
