'The Flash' Season 2 Spoilers: Barry to Face Zoom, Katie Cassidy to Guest Star as Black Siren
Fans of television series "The Flash" will have to wait a little while before they catch a new episode in CW as the show is currently going on a short hiatus. According to a report by Melty, season 2 episode 18 titled "Versus Zoom" will air on April 19. Fortunately though, the plot synopsis has been released already, giving fans a heads up on what will happen next.
As detailed in International Business Times, the episode will have Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) trying to open the breaches to Earth-2 to defeat Zoom (Tony Todd) for good. With the help of the tachyon device, Barry believes that he will be swift enough to catch the speed demon. Harry initially disagreed with Barry's plan, but with a little convincing, he finally tells that Cisco has the power to open the breach once again.
Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy, who plays as Black Canary in the series "Arrow," will be making an Earth-2 guest appearance on "The Flash" later this season. However, Den of Geek reported that Cassidy will not don on Black Canary's costume as she is said to play as her Earth-Two doppelganger, Black Siren. Comic Book Resources noted that Black Siren is known in the DC comics as the Golden Age version of the Black Canary. But in the animated show, Black Siren, who comes by the name Dinah Drake, is the mother of Laurel Lance and not the Earth-2 Canary herself.
Cassidy's character may debut on episode 22. And as said in a report by Yibada, The Flash and the Black Siren may not be in good terms in the alternate universe. This was based on the video that leaked online showing a snippet from the Vancouver set of the show. It stated that the video revealed the two characters coming face-to-face. Although, nothing is certain yet so fans will have to stay tuned to find out who Black Siren really is.
