The Gay Thought Police and Freedom of Speech
The virulent spirit of the lynch mob has been unleashed in American society.
Brendan Eich, the CEO of Mozilla, was forced to resign last week from the company he helped found. What was his crime? In 2008, he gave a $1,000 donation in support of California's ban on same-sex marriage.
Homosexual activists apparently never intended to abide by the "live-and-let-live" toleration they pretended to support while campaigning for same-sex marriage. Their goal is a new social order where their sexual lifestyle is affirmed and promoted as normal and healthy and anyone who doubts it is considered unhealthy. Furthermore, their goal seems to be marginalization to the level of KKK bigots anyone who dares question or dissent from the new moral equation.

Anyone who doubts this malign intent need only look at their behavior in their witch-hunt against Brendan Eich.
Now that the cultural winds appear to be blowing in their favor, the gay thought police have taken off their smiley face masks and are proceeding with grim determination to delve through the donation lists, petitions, and other records and evidences of Americans' freedom of expression. Their goal is expose or "out" anyone who has ever opposed same-sex marriage and vilify them as "hate-mongers." In doing so they seek to intimidate anyone who opposes them into silence through fear of social ridicule and loss of employment.
Mozilla's chairwoman, Mitchell Baker, issued a statement which can only be described adequately as "Orwellian." She said: "We have employees with a wide diversity of views. Our culture of openness extends to encouraging staff and community to share their beliefs and opinions in public."
Really? I guess that promise of inclusivity and freedom of speech means "some" staff' in "some" places on "some" subjects. Mozilla's inclusivity clearly does not include Brendan Eich and his views. This is how the freedoms of speech and conscience are lost, one victim at a time.
A new spirit of McCarthyism is loose among us. The gay thought police are challenging anyone they suspect of ever opposing or having qualms about their sexual lifestyle: "Are you now, or have you ever been, an opponent of same-sex marriage?' If the answer is anything other than the unequivocal no, then you are "blacklisted," with all the noxious consequences socially and economically that accompany it.
It is well past time for all freedom-loving people of good will, heterosexual, homosexual and bisexual, to rise up and say clearly: "Enough! We are not going to allow you to trample the consciences and free speech rights of our fellow citizens."
