'The Good Place' Season 2 Spoilers: Chidi and Eleanor Tackle The Trolley Problem
The upcoming episode of "The Good Place" season 2 will see Chidi (William Jackson Harper) and Eleanor (Kristen Bell) addressing an ethical dilemma.
The synopsis of the next episode, titled "The Trolley Problem," states that Chidi and Eleanor will discuss the titular, popular ethical issue. The Trolley Problem deals with a user's ethical outlook. The person is given a choice of whether to let a runaway trolley kill five people or change its course and have it only kill one person. It basically asks, "Does the good of the many outweigh the good of the one?"
This ethical dilemma will result in some dispute with Michael (Ted Danson). It is unknown what the conflict really is and how it will be resolved. Elsewhere, Tahani (Jameela Jamil) will turn to Janet (D'Arcy Carden) for some comfort, as she tells the robotic assistant of a deep secret that she is keeping.
A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released though it does not reveal much about what is in store for viewers. The promotional video mainly focuses on good reviews from different media outlets and shows some scenes from previous episodes. But, the final scene features a glimpse at "The Trolley Problem." Eleanor asks Janet for "something shiny" to keep Jason (Manny Jacinto) occupied. Janet pulls out a sparkler, which Jason quickly takes in excitement.
Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "Existential Crisis."
After a teaching session with Chidi, Michael suffered an existential crisis, knowing that he may no longer exist one day. He went on a rollercoaster ride of emotions before he finally realized that life is worth living.
While all this was going on, Tahani planned a party and was tortured by the fact that it was inferior to the one Vicki threw. In a surprise turn of events, Tahani and Jason slept together after he comforted her.
"The Good Place" season 2 airs Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. EDT on NBC.
