'The Good Wife' Season 6 News: Episode 10 'The Trial' Recap
The midseason finale of "The Good Wife" centers on Cary's trial, which is presided by Judge Richard Cuesta. The beginning of the episode sees the judge rushing through jury selection because he needed to leave to buy Neil Diamond tickets.
The trial begins, and it is revealed that Geneva Pine is having an affair with the narcotics detective on the case, Gary Prima. On the stand, Diane asks Prima about speaking with Trey Wagner. He admits that Trey set Cary up by turning the wire on and off because he was scared of Lemond Bishop. 48 hours later, Trey ends up dead.
Back in court, Geneva brings in Kalinda as witness. Later, Kalinda urges Alicia to get help from Finn, and Finn slips her some surveillance photos taken outside Lemond's house. The photos showed several known drug dealers leaving his house. He said that it wasn't enough to get him arrested, but Alicia said that it was enough for child protective services to take away his son.
The last member of Lemond's crew shows up to testify. He says that Cary gave him advice on how to avoid arrest and prosecution. Back at Florrick/Agos/Lockhart, Geneva offers Cary another deal: time served with 6 months probation if he testifies against Bishop. He refuses, so he's offered another deal: a lighter sentence on the conspiracy charge, four years, but not with time served.
Cary leaves the office, and Lemond stops by in his SUV to talk. He offers Cary a job as his legal consultant in Barcelona, which pays well but means that he can never return to the U.S. again. He turns Lemond down and says that the firm paid his $1.3 million in bail, and if he leaves, the firm will not get that back.
Alicia tells Cary to continue to fight, and she promises to visit him in prison. Back in court, Cary takes a deep breath and admits that he's guilty.
"The Good Wife" will return on Jan. 4, 2015 on CBS.
