'The Good Wife' Season 7 Episode 2 Spoilers and Pilot Recap: A New Alicia
In the forthcoming episode of "The Good Wife" entitled "Innocents," the official synopsis reads, "Alicia argues a complex museum vandalism case that involves photographs taken by a mother of her son, and considers enlisting the help of investigator Jason Crouse. Meanwhile, Cary deals with partner Howard Lyman's inappropriate conduct towards some younger associates at the firm."
In the promo for the episode, it seems that Alicia will have a new rival, and Eli, Peter's long-time friend and adviser, will also find himself going toe-to-toe with his new rival who was hired by Peter in order to help with the campaign. Alicia might also have a new love interest in Jason Crouse.
In the previous episode, it began with Alicia in city court as she volunteered to work as a bar attorney, but she was ignored by the judge and she was not assigned any cases. The judge told Alicia that he sees a lot of cases in a single day and that he does not need her to hold up the line.
Later on, Louis Canning took Alicia out to lunch and he continued to ask her if she would be his partner. She said no yet again and then she called Eli and she told him that she would only support Peter if he ran for vice president. Alicia went home defeated, but her children had a surprise for her. Zack had created a website for her and Grace told her that she had her first client waiting in her home office.
Mrs. Smulders had a dispute with her brother over their dead mother's assets since her mother did not leave a will. Alicia went to the mother's house and she met the brother and his lawyer who happened to be David Lee.
Peter hired Ruth Eastman himself and he boxed Eli out. In the meantime, Alicia went back to city court and she was given a chance — thanks to another attorney named Lucca. Unfortunately, Alicia bombed her cases and because her paperwork was wrong she would not even get paid for her work.
Eli went to Alicia and offered to become her chief of staff to which she agreed. Alicia ended up winning her case against David Lee and Diane as the siblings ended up splitting everything 50/50. As it turns out, the client did not come from her website but from Louis Canning, who promised to send her more clients.
"The Good Wife" airs every Sunday.
