'The Good Wife' Season 7 Spoilers: Violent Turn For Alicia
Being a good wife is all so easy for some but not for Alicia (Julianna Margulies), as the new teaser for "The Good Wife" season 7 reveals that fans will see the other side of the woman who has always been reserved.
In the teaser released by CBS, an angry and violent Alicia is seen reacting to Eli's (Alan Cumming) deception. While Eli is Peter's (Chris Noth) crisis manager and campaign strategist who is supposed to be helping his boss and the boss' wife at some point, it happens that Eli is an accomplice to the drifting apart that happened between Alicia and Will (Josh Charles).
While it wasn't Eli who killed Alicia's former flame, he indirectly took part in all the pain that the latter suffered after it was revealed in the winter finale that he deleted Will's voice message for his boss' wife.
In season 5, Will passed away in the hands of a client, and while it has supposedly been years since he left Alicia, fans know very well that she still has feelings for the person she had an affair with for two seasons.
The latest promo clip shows Eli saying the words "I'm sorry." A few seconds later, Alicia kicks the chair she sits on, then the violence follows as she brings a stack of plates to the table and starts flinging them toward Eli. The scared and shocked friend covers his head and Alicia breaks one of the plates on the wall just next to where Eli is standing. The latter has no choice but to leave before the worse happens.
The deleted voice message is Will's last words for Alicia wherein he says he loves her and is willing to do anything for her. It is only reasonable that the calm and reserved woman suddenly resorts to violence since she feels betrayed by one of the people she trusts.
With the events that were shown on the teaser, it is safest to say that Alicia will break her bond of friendship with Eli, but it is unclear if she will go as far as getting Eli fired from his current job.
Season 7 of "The Good Wife" resumes on Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
