'The Good Wife' Series Finale Spoilers: Julianna Margulies Says Fans Will Hate It Or Love It
The star of the hit CBS series "The Good Wife" teases fans about the upcoming series finale.
Fans of the legal series "The Good Wife" were heartbroken when it was revealed that the series was nearing its end. The show had been close to cancellation due to its decreasing ratings and viewership. In addition, it was announced that the creators of the show, Robert and Michelle King, were leaving as well.
With the sad news, the leading actress of the series Julianna Margulies also shared some interesting details about the show's ending. She hinted that the upcoming series finale could upset a lot of the fans, as it will not bring a clear resolution to the story.
According to Cinema Blend, she said, "I said to Christine [Baranski] when we shot the last scene, 'Wow. The fans are either gonna love this or hate this, but there's not going to be a 'meh.' There's no tied up bows. And I hope that the fans can understand the trajectory it puts Alicia on."
Aside from Margulies, the departing creators of the series also shared some interesting insights about the finale. Michelle King explained that they were hoping to create a finale that spoke to avid fans of the series. With that, they wanted to make everyone working on the series to have a proud ending.
Robert King also added, "We really wanted to say goodbye to a big troupe of actors and characters that we've kind of loved over the years. We just kind of wanted to return to things that we enjoyed over the years and really give them a chance to say goodbye."
He also explained that the finale will bring a lot of surprises in order to keep fans interested, rather than saying goodbye.
The series finale of "The Good Wife" airs this May 8.
