'The Handmaid's Tale' Season 2 Spoilers: Elisabeth Moss Teases Unexpected Opening Scene as Toronto Filming Starts

Work on the second season of "The Handmaid's Tale" is about to start in Toronto. The next few weeks will be a busy one for star Elisabeth Moss.

The actress told the press during the Toronto Film Festival while promoting her movie "The Square" that she's all set for the grueling challenge of filming two episodes a week for season 2. She expects that she is going to be at work for 75 hours weekly until the filming ends in February.

When asked what "The Handmaid's Tale" season 2 will bring, Moss cautioned that it won't be what viewers might expect. The actress was careful not to reveal anything away but shared one tidbit while she dropped in on Andy Cohen's show.

"The opening [scene] of season 2, that whatever you think it's going to be — just throw it out," Moss revealed. "It's gone in a completely different way that I never would have expected," she added.

Moss' character, Offred, was last seen being driven away by the Eyes in the season 1 finale. Presumably, she will be punished or tortured for being part of the resistance group, Mayday, in this dystopian drama.

In the book source written by esteemed author Margaret Atwood, the Eyes was revealed to be secretly part of the resistance group and they took Offred from her master's home to save her from their abuse.

But given what Moss said, the new season might take a different turn as the source material. Viewers, however, will have to wait until 2018 for the return of "The Handmaid's Tale."

Meanwhile, before heading to the set, all cameras will be on Moss on Sunday, Sept. 17 for the Emmy Awards. The star is up for a Best Actress award for "The Handmaid's Tale" and her toughest competition "The Crown's" Claire Foy, according to Emmy experts.

All 10 episodes of "The Handmaid's Tale" season 1 are currently streaming on Hulu.
