'The Huntsman: Winter's War' Movie News: Emily Blunt To Play The Ice Queen

The second installment of the movie "Snow White and The Huntsman" is definitely on its way as the trailer for it has just finally been revealed. The movie entitled "The Huntsman: Winter's War" will feature the return of Chris Hemsworth as Eric the Huntsman. Charlize Theron will also be reprising her role as Ravenna, as both of them will play a major part in the sequel's plot.

In the trailer, another major character will seemingly be stepping up, and it's Freya, a.k.a. The Ice Queen. She will be portrayed by none other than Emily Blunt. The British actress is heard voicing over the trailer. She will come in to the story line as Ravenna's sister. According to Screen Rant, Freya will be learning of Ravenna's defeat and will try to resurrect her, with some helping hand from the Magic Mirror. After doing so, the two of them will team up to attempt and take over a more vast enchanted kingdom.

Eric then comes in to save the kingdom from the evil sisters but he won't do it alone as newcomer Jessica Chastain will be entering as Sara to help him. It would make sense that the two would have an idea how to defeat Freya since they have both served her in the past. Sara was also Eric's former love, and as they set off on an adventure together, it is expected that they will rekindle the flame.

One of the noticeable actresses who won't be coming back for the sequel is Kristen Stewart. This is because Snow White won't be part of the story in any way as it will solely focus on Hemsworth's character. Despite the first movie being far from blockbuster hit unlike Hemsworth's superhero movie franchise, Thor, it had earned enough last time for the sequel to get a go signal.

"The Huntsman: Winter's War" is expected to hit theaters on April 22, 2016.
