'The Incredibles 2' Release Date, News, Cast, Spoilers: Two Possible Options for Sequel Time Line
Since Pixar has teased the development of "The Incredibles 2," rumors on what the second installment for the hit superhero movie could be all about have been buzzing around. There are already a couple of popular theories about the possible story line of the sequel, but nothing has been confirmed at this point. What's known so far is that director Brad Bird has some big ideas that he wants to incorprorate in the film.
One of the most speculated developments would be the time line of the sequel. A report by Movie News Guide claims that there are two options where the story can once again pick up. First is to continue the current time line where the previous movie ended. This could mean a continuation of the adventures the family could have as superheroes. Another option that seems to be more appealing to people is to have a significant time gap in which many ideas may be inserted and make the history of the family, as well as the story, more riveting than ever.
Furthermore, the expansive time line would also support the theory that the new villain in the movie could be the adult version of Jack-Jack. It is rumored that the family's baby will grow up and turn against them, ending up in an ultimate battle. Perhaps portraying the kids as grown-ups in the next installment will generate more interest from audiences who feel they have also grown up along with them, especially since the expected target group of the movie would be the fans of the first one. Another specualted villain is Edna Mode, who is remembered to have designed the family's crime-fighting costumes. There isn't any news yet on how Edna would be entering the scene as a villain.
Originally, it was said that the movie may be released later than 2020; however, according to Variety, Disney had already made an announcement that the "The Incredibles 2" is expected to hit theaters in 2019 but no set date is given for now.
