The Killers Saxophone Player Suicide: Tommy Marth Dead at 33
Tommy Marth of The Killers has died in his Las Vegas home after what has been ruled as a suicide, reports Thursday are saying.
"Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth," said the band in a statement Monday, according to Las Vegas Weekly. "Our prayers are with his family. There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy."
The cause of death was confirmed as a gunshot wound to the head, according to CNN.

The 33-year-old saxophone player was on two Killers albums, "Sam's Town" and "Day & Age." Additionally, he toured with the band from 2008-2009. Before joining the band, Marth was part Brandon Flowers' band which formed in 2001.
Marth also played with a host of local Las Vegas acts such as the Big Friendly Corporation and Black Camaro.
"I'm just trying to make sense of things right now and help some people who aren't doing very well," said local musician Ryan Pardey speaking to Las Vegas Weekly. "He was one of the most talented people in our community and one of my closest friends since we were 18."
Additionally, longtime friend Corlene Byrd noted her sadness while speaking to the paper.
"I'm not sure it's hit me yet," said Byrd. "He was an amazing person. He was one of the easiest people to be silly with."
The musician is also being mourned on Twitter, with fans posting their respects.
"RIP Tommy Marth, sax player for The Killers," wrote BuzzFeed. "He committed suicide this week."
"Now playing The Killers," posted Lindsey, adding "#RIP."
Jennifer wrote, "I'm heartbroken for his family and friends RIP."
"WOW so sad," wrote Liam after retweeting the news.
The saxophonist leaves behind his siblings and his parents.
The Killers are best known for their songs "Mr. Brightside," "Somebody Told Me," and "All These Things That I've Done," among others. The band's members include Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Ronnie Vannucci, Jr., and Mark Stoermer.
