'The King of Fighters XIV' DLC News: Latest Trailer Teases the Arrival of New Characters

The developer of the arcade and PlayStation 4 fighting game "The King of Fighters XIV," SNK, released the latest trailer for some upcoming downloadable content and it provided a clear hint that there will be several new characters coming to the game.

SNK released a trailer on Monday that previews the upcoming DLC costumes for Iori Yagami, Kula Diamond, Meitenkun, Sylvie Paula Paula and Angel. However, the biggest surprise is probably the silhouettes found at the end of the video that teases the introduction of new characters.

The silhouettes that were shown before the video ends indicate that there will be three new characters, and SNK promised to release more details about them in March.

On the other hand, the trailer was mainly for the upcoming DLC costumes. Upon its release, players will get to dress Iori in a Classic costume that includes an outfit that looks like a tuxedo. However, the costume tightly hugs Iori's hunky body frame while revealing some of his chest. And unlike in a real-life tuxedo, Iori's black suit is cut a lot shorter.

Also to arrive in the DLC this month is Kula's Diamond Sundress. The bright blue-haired fighter will get a sleeveless white dress with large navy blue collar and a little purple tie.

Meitenkun gets Pajamas as his new fighting attire which is just appropriate for the sleepy young fighter. Along with the loose blue-striped pair of pajamas, Meitenkun will get a big black cat stuffed toy that he'll drag along in his fights.

The childlike and cheerful Sylvie Paula Paula will get a new costume straight off from a fairy tale – the Little Red Riding Hood dress – though Sylvie's version shows a little more skin. And just like Meitenkun, Sylvie gets her own fox stuffed toy.

And lastly, Angel also gets a new costume called Diabla, which is opposite to her name.

Apart from the new costumes and characters, SNK also promised to bring in new stages that are free to play. However, more details about these new levels are also yet to be announced in March. On the other hand, the said DLC costumes will go live on Feb. 23, Japan time.
