'The Last Man On Earth' Season 3 Return Date, Spoilers: Wiig-Forte Reunion Brings New Life to Post-Apocalyptic Earth
When "The Last Man On Earth," ended the first half of its third season last year, there were two huge questions left in the viewers' minds. But now that the series is coming back in March for the second half of season 3, one main question that may have already been forgotten in the chaos of the post-apocalyptic comedy resurfaces: How did it all begin?
Titled "Got Milk?," episode 10 promises to reveal the first moments of the deadly virus outbreak that wiped out almost all of humanity. It does this in fashion, and a special lens, with the introduction of a new recurring character that will be played by comedienne Kristen Wiig.
Will Forte, the series creator who also plays the main character Tandy, first collaborated with Wiig on "Saturday Night Live (SNL)" and the "MacGyver" parody segment, "MacGruber." And while there are still no concrete details about what kind of character Wiig will be playing, "SNL" fans are already excited to see Forte and Wiig's dynamics play out on a different field.
What kind of hilarious mayhem will the two of them pull off if and when they finally meet? Could showing the first moments of the outbreak also reveal the virus' origin? Or will the revelation be spread and gradually uncovered through the rest of the season's remaining episodes?
The official trailer for the next episode features Wiig's character all geared up in a homemade Hazmat suit and then later bouncing it up to the Laura Branigan classic, "Gloria," while her dog watches on. Could the song title be a clue to her character's name? And how, if at all, will she eventually join Tandy's group?
Of course, fans will still be expecting answers to the questions left by the midseason finale regarding Gail's fate inside the elevator and Melissa's deteriorating mental health.
"The Last Man on Earth" season 3 episode 10 airs on Sunday, March 5 at 9:30 p.m. EST on FOX.
