Fans Clamoring for 'The Last of Us 2'

The first installment of "The Last of Us" was launched way back in June 2013, and was exclusively released to the PlayStation 3. As of yet, the developer of the game, Naughty Dog, as well as its publisher, Sony Computer Entertainment, has been mum about any official information regarding the video game's sequel.

Given that the waiting time has been a while now, fans are quite disappointed as "The Last of Us 2" has not even been announced yet. As the publisher does not give out any updates, some people have formed their own theories about the game's fate.

Some say that lately, the developer has been occupied with "Uncharted 4," another hit action adventure title from the company. This leaves them almost no time to work on "The Last of Us 2." There are also speculations that the entire franchise might be scrapped and the public would never see a sequel.

Confirmed Sequel?

Reports have pointed out that despite the absence of any official announcements, "The Last of Us 2" will surely be released to the public. As the first installment of the game was received well, a sequel to continue the franchise is just what the company needs.

Nolan North, one of the gaming world's biggest voice actors, have also dropped a hint that Naughty Dog is working on "The Last of Us 2." This has yet been the biggest rumor about the confirmation of a sequel for "The Last of Us," giving fans hope that the franchise will still go on.

Creative Director Speaks

According to one of the creative directors of Naughty Dog, Neil Druckmann, the company took three and a half years to actually finish the first installment of "The Last of Us." However, he then confirms earlier reports that the priority of Naughty Dog for now is to finalize the upcoming downloadable content for "Uncharted 4."

With this news, Druckmann assured that "The Last of Us 2" will definitely be released. Fans can expect its official announcements to be made sometime in 2018. "The Last of Us 2" may then be officially released on 2021 if everything goes as planned.
