The Last of Us PS4 Release Date Announced? Rumor Confirmed for A Summer Launch by Sony Executive
The Last of Us will be coming to the PS4 this summer, according to new reports.
PlayStation's Eurasian Software Market manager Sercan Sulun confirmed to the Turkish CNN in a recent interview.
"There is no information about a new The Last of Us game but I can share this knowledge; as of this summer, The Last of Us will be on the PS4. Both on PSN and physically," Sulun said, as translated by IGN. "The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play Left Behind as well."
Another translation of his interview by a NeoGaf user gave more information, "Sequel is not coming right now as far as I know, but I can say that [the] first game will be released this summer for PS4 as a physical and digital copy with enhanced graphics."
No official statement has been made by Sony regarding the news. The Last of Us is originally a PS3 exclusive that was released in June of last year. It won game of the year, and has sold over six million copies.
"The Last of Us is genre-defining experience blending survival and action elements to tell a character-driven story about a population decimated by a modern plague. Cities are abandoned and being reclaimed by nature. Remaining survivors are killing each other for food, weapons, and whatever they can find. Joel, a ruthless survivor, and Ellie, a young teenage girl who's braver and wiser beyond her years, must work together to survive their journey across what remains of the United States," read the video's description.
