'The Last Ship' Season 4 Episode 6 Spoilers: Chandler Encounters More Opposition on Return to Navy
Not everyone is happy that Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) will soon return to the USS Nathan James in the current season of "The Last Ship."
In the episode titled "Tempest," the captain is expected to deal with opposition on his eventual return to duty as the leader of the Navy crew. Last episode, he drew the ire of CMC Russ Jeter (Charles Parnell) when the latter asked why he was thinking of going back when he previously turned his back on his friends. Chandler tried to make the irate Russ see some sense, stating that he had lost himself then and needed a break from everything. However, Russ will not be the only one reacting negatively to Chandler's homecoming. There are others who feel the same way as him.
Jocko Sims, who plays Lt. Carlton Burk in the show, recently told CarterMatt that though the crew is generally happy that Chandler is okay, some of them still feel bad about his resignation. When Chandler decided to leave the Navy, his friends at the USS Nathan James had a hard time accepting that he tossed away years of camaraderie. The captain will have to assure these doubters that he is there to stay. Captain Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) is expected to help Chandler, as he is one of the people whose loyalty never wavered.

"It's been sixteen months, so in some ways we've moved on from Chandler and we have our own mission at hand. At some point we will reunite with him, and that process is going to be very fun to watch. What you're going to find is that not everybody is going to welcome back the captain with open arms. Some of us may feel a little bit abandoned by him. But Burk, as I've said before, has always been devoted to the mission. That's going to be what he focuses on, especially given the circumstances," Sims said.
Meanwhile, the synopsis (according to TV Guide) revealed that the crew must overcome a huge threat while facing the wrath of nature. The USS Nathan James will reportedly encounter a destructive storm. They must make it out of it alive or Slattery's sacrifice in getting the ancient palm seeds will go to waste.
"The Last Ship" season 4 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on TNT.
