'The Legend of Zelda' Release Delay Linked to Changes in Graphics

Those who have been anticipating the arrival of the high-fantasy action-adventure video "The Legend of Zelda" will have to wait more as it has been announced that the release date has been delayed until further notice.

In a report by Realty Today, the game was said to be in track with the development and will be released in 2015. Apparently, the schedule for the game is not going to happen. The game also did not make an appearance during the 2015 E3, which damaged Nintendo's reputation even with the announcement of the game "Star Fox Zero."

The company initially released a timeline or calendar which said that the game for Wii U would be released by 2016. But they made another change again and placed it under the "to be announced" category alongside other games like "Halo 5: Guardians," "Fallout 4," and "Dark Souls 3."

Fans are wondering about the sudden changes and the delay but as reports said, there wasn't any explanation given regarding the hold-up. There are speculations though and it includes that of industry follower HMK's thoughts that say that the change in graphics is the chief reason for the delay.

HMK pointed out via a video that Wii U is "nearing the product lifecycle" and that Nintendo is presently working on a new console, which is called as the NX. With this, it may be possible that they are delaying the game's release in order to make it available along with the newer console. Design & Trend noted that this could also mean that the game will have new gameplay elements as well as different visuals. Other sources say that perhaps the delay has something to do with the recent passing of Nintendo President Satoru Iwata. But then again, the game had already been delayed even when he was still alive.

Whatever the reason may be for the delay, fans are hoping that Nintendo will release an explanation regardless how disappointing it may be.
