'The Legend of Zelda' Wii U Not Yet Released, Delay Not Caused by 'Triforce Heroes'

The high-fantasy action-adventure video game "The Legend of Zelda" is still under wraps at Nintendo as there have been rumors that the game is in the midst of a release day. According to the report of Design and Trend, the Japanese video game company dismissed the rumors by saying and doubly confirming that the game is still in development for Wii U.

Shack News reported that the game is expected to arrive in 2016. And until now, it's still to be dated. The source mentioned that "The Legend of Zelda" was not part of Nintendo's quarterly financial earnings report in July and as seen in the list of the launch schedule of Nintendo, the game still has a "TBD" associated with its release. This could also mean that the game might not come next year but fans are crossing fingers that it will be released soon.

Contrary to popular belief, the delay of the game is not due to Nintendo's second title which is the "The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes." Its recent release on 3DS did not in any way made an impact to the progress of the game for Wii U because the two had no bearing on the other. And this was explained by long-time series producer Eiji Aonuma who told Game Spot in an interview that each game had its own team of workers.

"We actually have different teams. Sometimes people on the handheld team do work on the consoles, but for this it was a separate team. I want to assure you that the Wii U Zelda was not delayed in any way because of Triforce Heroes," said Aonuma.

Unfortunately, Aonuma's interview, along with "Triforce Heroes" director Hiromasa Shikata, did not reveal much about the overall future for the franchise on Wii U. But there's a big possibility that it will not go down the drain.

In the meantime, fans can check out "The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes" which is now available on 3DS.
