'The Legend of Zelda' Wii U Rumored to Be Released in Spring 2016
"The Legend of Zelda" Wii U is rumored to be released in spring of 2016, but Nintendo has not yet confirmed it.
While there are sources who have "confirmed" that Nintendo will release "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U early next year, fans are cautioned to take the news with a grain of salt. The rumored release might turn out to be nothing but a myth, according to the Gospel Herald.
A confirmed release date is expected to spread like wildfire across Internet news. It is worth noting that IGN said the scheduled launch of "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U will still be announced in 2016.
Nintendo had previously announced that it will not release a new Zelda game until 2015. However, a YouTube video surfaced showing the game's producer explaining that the release date of "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U will have to be pushed back until 2016, the report relays.
To make things more complicated, Wii U has been struggling to compete with the Xbox One and PS4. Because of this, the company may release the Nintendo NX during the E3 2016 in Los Angeles. If this comes to pass, a Wii U version of the Zelda game may no longer be in the cards, the report explains.
Nintendo may pour out its effort on creating an NX version of the Zelda game. This seems like a better option for the Japanese firm compared to toiling over an older version, Master Herald reports.
Nevertheless, "The Legend of Zelda" series producer Eiji Aonuma recently revealed that they have not given up on the game's Wii U version. He also denied rumors that "The Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes" was the cause of the Wii U version's delay. Each game has a different development team, he explained.
As of now, gamers may be cautious about news on the release date of "The Legend of Zelda" Wii U, but they are still waiting for official updates from Nintendo. More details are expected to be announced next year.
