'The Magicians' Season 1 Episode 5 Spoilers, News: 'The Magicians' Get to See a Second Season
"The Magicians" only showed four episodes so far, but Syfy already renewed the series for a second season.
According to Variety, "The Magicians" will be seeing a sophomore season next year, with 13 episodes ordered. The announcement was made last Monday, Feb. 8, and Dave Howe, Syfy president, said that they are happy with how the fantasy-drama is doing so far. "Thanks to an extraordinarily gifted creative team of executive producers and our partners at Universal Cable Productions, 'The Magicians' has become a buzzed-about hit, enchanting fans of the novels as well as attracting new and younger audiences to Syfy," Howe said.
Meanwhile, episode 4 has proven to be the best episode yet of the series, despite being a one-off episode, according to Vulture. The website said that the episode started off as something very predictable, but later turned out to be very promising.
The most notable scene of last Monday's episode was Quentin's (Jason Ralph) music therapy when he was under a spell made by Julia (Stella Maeve) and Marina (Kacey Rohl). To escape from the mental ward he was put in while under the spell, he had to call upon Penny, (Arjun Gupta), who can travel through minds, by singing Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off." The song is an earworm to Penny, but the singalong proved to be effective since he came to Quentin's help. Fans are definitely looking forward to see what the show's creative team can bring more in the next episodes of the show.
Spoilers Guide posted the synopsis of the next episode, which is titled "Mendings, Major and Minor," and it reads, "The students each deal with a personal matter that keeps them from focusing on the upcoming Welter's Tournament."
"The Magicians" also stars Olivia Taylor Dudley as Alice, Hale Appleman as Eliot, and Summer Bishil as Margo. Series regulars include Rick Worthy (Dean Fogg) and Jade Tailor (Kady).
Watch "The Magicians" every Monday on the Syfy network.
