'The Mayor' Season 1 Spoilers: Courtney's Approval Rating Takes a Dip

This week's episode of "The Mayor" season 1 will find Courtney Rose's (Brandon Michael Hall) approval rating take a dip. The synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that people, including his own staff, will start to question his ability to serve as the new head of Fort Grey.

Titled "Buyer's Remorse," episode 3 will follow Courtney as he deals with his constituents' negative impressions of him. Based on the synopsis for the episode, knowing that his own people are doubting his capabilities as their leader will motivate him to work smarter when it comes to dirty politics, even if that means having to deal with Ed Gunt (David Spade) in an unconventional manner. The synopsis also reveals that Courtney will come up with a plan that will help him earn the trust of his constituents.

It can be recalled that in the premiere episode of the season, the rivalry between Courtney and Ed started when the latter called out the former for an allegedly non-existent project, which his mayoral rival said was in progress. "I'm proud to have led the effort to restore the City Commons, which is now well underway," claimed Ed during their mayoral debate.

As he continued to talk about the project, Courtney butted in and straightforwardly asked him if what he was telling the people was true. "It's not every day that you hear 'proud' and 'City Commons' used in the same sentence. I mean, I was just there. Have you been there, Mr. Gunt? There is so much trash in there Google Maps has listed it as a mountain," said Courtney.

Although Courtney won the mayoral elections, Ed continues to be a burden to him because his former rival in the position is a City Council member. It remains to be seen if Courtney will finally be able to make Ed stop competing with him in the coming episodes.

Meanwhile, the synopsis for episode 4 reveals that Courtney will host a Halloween party in town, and Valentina Barella (Lea Michele) will have to deal with some prank that two of her friends will play on her.

"The Mayor" episode 3 airs on Tuesday, Oct. 17, at 9:30 p.m. EDT on ABC.
