'The Mick' Season 2 Spoilers: Mickey and Alba Take on Ben's Science Fair Project

The upcoming episode of "The Mick" season 2 will see Mickey (Kaitlin Olson) and Alba (Carla Jimenez) helping Ben (Jack Stanton) with his project.

The synopsis of the next episode, titled "The Invention," states that Mickey will discover that Ben has medication that he takes to help keep him focused. She will attempt to prove that he does not need the medication to function properly. In the process, she and Alba will do his science fair project for him. However, as they do, the two girls will become too devoted to the project. Elsewhere, Chip (Thomas Barbusca) has a secret boys club, and Jimmy will help him make the group cool again.

A teaser trailer for the new episode has also been released. It opens with Mickey and Alba approaching Ben as he works on his science fair project. Mickey proclaims that it is her first attempt at hands-on parenting. But, when she asks Ben if he already has ideas for his project, he suggests toilet-related ventures, and she learns that it will not be as easy as expected.

The previous episode of "The Mick" season 2, titled "The Haunted House," saw Mickey throwing a Halloween party at the Pemberton mansion. Chip was not into the holiday at all, while Mickey became the very authority figure she hated. The episode was written by Scott MacArthur, who also plays Jimmy on the show.

Co-creator John Chernin sat down with Den of Geek and talked about what went on behind the scenes. He revealed that they decided to make Chip hate Halloween because it seemed like a funny idea to have a kid loathe the holiday when free candy is given out.

"I think we always try to find conflict in scenes so we wanted to pit someone against Mickey and Jimmy and Chip seemed like a natural fit. It feels like he would look down on a holiday that's all about handouts," he said.

Chernin also teased that Halloween episodes could become a tradition for the show, though he revealed that it ultimately boils down to the episode's reception.

"The Mick" season 2 airs Tuesdays, at 9 p.m. EDT on FOX.
