'The Night Manager' Release Date, Latest News: BBC, The Ink Factory and AMC Announce Mini-Series
One of the most awaited TV offerings for this year is the reported mini-series adaptation of John le Carre's popular espionage/detective novel "The Night Manager."
A report from IGN.com indicated that the upcoming show will be produced in partnership of BBC One, The Ink Factory and AMC.
The site went on to say that the anticipated series will see the acts of multiple Emmy award-nominated actor Hugh Laurie of "House M.D." and Tom Hiddleston of "The Avengers" and "Thor: The Dark World," and will begin filming in spring 2015.

Set to helm the project is the "In a Better World" Academy Award winner director Susanne Bier.
Meanwhile, an official press release for the plot summary of "The Night Manager" was posted on Screen Rant and it reads:
"A contemporary interpretation of le Carré's espionage drama, 'The Night Manager' will bring together love, loss and revenge in a complex story of modern criminality. The series follows former British soldier Jonathan Pine (Hiddleston) as he navigates the shadowy recesses of Whitehall and Washington where an unholy alliance operates between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. To infiltrate the inner circle of lethal arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper (Laurie), Pine must himself become a criminal."
Ben Stephenson of BBC meanwhile spoke about the upcoming drama.
"It's a fantastic coup to bring le Carré back to our screens after more than 20 years. He is quite simply one of the greatest novelists of our time, and I am sure that with AMC, Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie on board, this will be one of the BBC's most unique, ambitious and unmissable dramas," he said.
Both Hiddleston and Laurie, on the other hand, also shared their enthusiasm for the forthcoming TV project.
"I could not be more excited to join BBC One, The Ink Factory and AMC for The Night Manager," Hiddleston exclaimed.
"I loved The Night Manager when it was published, and for more than 20 years have yearned to see it realized on screen; I am now thrilled and honored to have the frontest of front row seats," Laurie said.
