'The Originals' Cast News, Update: Executive Producer Michael Narducci Confirms Claire Holt's Return
The upcoming brand new third season of The CW's hit supernatural drama TV series "The Originals" will be bringing back one of the many interesting characters in the show.
Last week, E! News broke the news that actress Claire Holt will be reprising her role in the show as Rebekah but in her real body. Executive producer Michael Narducci, who recently appeared at the Television Critics Association press tour in Beverly Hills, California, teased some details about Rebekah's return and how she will be connected with the new character Aurora (played by "Pretty Little Liars" alum Rebecca Breeds).
"Aurora is part of Rebekah's sire line," the showrunner said. "So we'll get to see some flashbacks between Rebekah and Aurora, and we'll also get to see Aurora come to our present day New Orleans and wreak some fun havoc. Absolutely, that means that Claire is returning. In flashbacks, it would have to be Claire."
Holt appeared multiple times in the "Vampire Diaries" spinoff show. However, most of the character's involvement was played by Maisie Richarson-Sellers, who appeared as Rebekah in a witch's body.
"Right now we're trying to work with Claire's schedule and it's all working out nicely," Narducci continued. "Claire is phenomenal and we love to have her on the show."
The executive producer went on to dish out some of the writers' plans in bringing back the character.
"We've got a whole flashback storyline that she will participate in, and then we have some ideas on how we might see Rebekah again in present day in both bodies. Not at the same time!" he said.
"The Originals" Season 3 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. on The CW.
