'The Originals' season 3 plot news: New addition to cast
News for the upcoming season of the series "The Originals" revealed that the story is expected to bring in a new character for its third season.
It was reported that "Veronica Mars" star Jason Dohring will be playing a role in the upcoming season of The Originals. Julie Plec, executive producer of the series, shared her excitement for the new addition to the cast.
She said, "You know what's so funny: I love ['Veronica Mars' executive producers] Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, but I never watched 'Veronica Mars.' I only knew Jason Dohring because ['Vampire Diaries' executive producer] Kevin [Williamson] loved him so much on [the CBS drama] 'Moonlight.' And then I realized, he's Logan that everyone talks about from 'Veronica Mars. I feel like I'm very lucky to have the person that so many people fell in love with in the past decade."
It was reported that Dohring will be spending a lot of time with Leah Pipers. Their characters will have many interactions, which will allow fans to see Cami loosen up as a CSI. They will be seen working together right from the start of the upcoming season.
With that, fans are wondering whether her new friendship will bring tension between her and Laus, played by Joseph Morgan. Plec shared that the connection between Cami and Klaus will further complicate in the upcoming season, as reported by TV Line.
She added, "It's not that it's going to be explored or unexplored; it just kind of a thing that exists under every interaction between them. Yet they can't resist having these epic, deep, emotional moments. I like that every scene of theirs is fraught with a little bit of that tension. Whether we decide to act on it or not, I can't tell you."
The Originals season 3 is expected to premiere on CW this Oct. 8.
