'The Originals' Spoilers: Mikael is 'The Biggest Threat' to Klaus in Finale

"The Originals" returns to the CW on Tuesday with a brand new episode entitled "The Battle of New Orleans."

The dramatic television series is a spin-off of the hit show "The Vampire Diaries" and kicked off its first season last year. Fans have gravitated toward the Original Family, including Klaus Mikaelson, the original vampire-werewolf hybrid who has returned to New Orleans where his siblings reside. However, the main character meets danger at every turn, leaving viewers wondering what will happen with situations from evil witches who want Klaus dead to the safety of his unborn baby.

Fortunately, Joseph Morgan, who portrays Klaus, recently let fans in on what Klaus will be up to in the upcoming season finale. First, the actor pointed as Mikael as Klaus' "most terrifying threat," but there are others.

"The emotional investment that Klaus has finally made in his child and the potential for the child to save him, to redeem Klaus is huge, so that witches, even Genevieve, particularly, being a threat to his child is pretty worrying as well," Morgan told Entertainment Weekly.

Morgan went on to explain that his character must keep both Mikael and Genevieve at bay for his own well-being.

"For Klaus' person, for his physical form, if Mikael gets his way and is able to get a body and come back somehow, I think Mikael is the biggest threat, but for Klaus' redemption, for his sanity, for everything that's good in him, I think that Genevieve at the moment along with Monique is the biggest threat because they take his child and he'll be going down a pretty dark path, I would imagine."

As for Klaus' relationship with his adopted son Marcel, Morgan warned, "There's a huge love there between those characters, but in the moment, could Klaus do something terrible? Absolutely."

"The Originals" airs on the CW Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST. The synopsis for "The Battle of New Orleans" is as follows: "Klaus and Elijah enact a plan that promises to alter the fates of Haley and the werewolf community, and lead to the extermination of the French Quarter vampires. Meanwhile, Marcel rallies an army to battle the Mikaelsons and regain control of the city; and Francesca threatens Cami, who deciphers a code that leads to a surprising revelation among the city's factions."
