'The Predator' News: Actor Reveals Plot Details, How Movie Conflict Arises
Actor Thomas Jane recently revealed several plot details of the upcoming movie "The Predator." He also spilled that he would be playing the role of an army veteran who was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, where his condition would eventually lead him to the group that will try to defeat the Predators.
The upcoming movie will be the next offering under the "Predator" franchise, whose first film ("Predator") premiered in 1987. It also had sequels in 1990 ("Predator 2") and 2010 ("Predators").
In a recent interview on Shadow Nation with Shaun Burris and Nathan Schoonover, Jane revealed that he would be portraying a war veteran who had just come home after a tour of duty.
At home, it was soon discovered that Jane's character and several other soldiers were suffering from PTSD and needed to go to a VA hospital for medication and some group therapy. While at the hospital, their group therapy discussion was disrupted as "somebody flips out."
According to Jane, at this point, they would then be arrested and led to a bus where they would soon be in the company of "this other guy" who becomes the source of the movie's conflict. The "other guy" who Jane was referring to had reportedly been marked to be killed to silence him "because he's seen a UFO, he's seen the Predator ships come down so they lock him up."
Jane added: "They're going to take that bus, drive it down to a ditch and shoot us all just to get rid of this one guy. But, of course, we take the bus over and we're all like 'F*** that man, let's go kill these f****** Predators ourselves' and we're just crazy enough to believe that this guy really did see a UFO and there's these aliens out there. So that's kinda cool!"
Meanwhile, Jane also shared that he had fun working with the other cast members especially director Shane Black, who is also known for his work in "Iron Man 3."
"And Shane Black, he wrote and directed it so it has that kind of Shane Black humor. We had a blast. It was funny," Jane added.
"The Predator" is now slated to open in theaters on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018.
