'The Queen of Clean' Chonda Pierce Named 'Top Certified Female Comedian'
Christian comedian Chonda Pierce, "The Queen of Clean," was recently honored as the 'Top Certified Female Comedian' by the RIAA for career milestones such as eight gold and three platinum long-form DVDs.
Pierce is known for her Southern twang, witty observations, and her gift of selling out arenas as well as being a gifted singer and piano player.
Saturday, June 22, she performed to a sold-out, hometown crowd at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium for three hours of non-stop jokes. The entire event was filmed, and will be released as her 10th DVD.

Pierce started her career in a Nashville, Tennessee theme park called Opryland USA originally just to pay bills for college, but it turned into a six year stint.
The comedian often works her tough up bringing into her comedy. "I was hooked! I loved the sound of an audience laughing. It was just the medicine I needed," she says according to her auto-biography.
Pierce is a frequenter of XM Radio's Laugh USA, Blue Collar Comedy on Sirius Satellite Radio, The View, and the Wanda Sykes Show.
She has performed on The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville numerous times and has even appeared on several Gather Homecomings.
Having written eight books, perhaps Pierce's most notable is the one dealing with depression, "Laughing in the Dark: A Comedian's Journey Through Depression."
Pierce is a member of the Christian Comedy Association, and outside of comedy, she is a spokesperson for World Vision.
