The race to challenge Trump: Warren on the rise; Biden still leads
The Endorsement Primary
Political website FiveThirtyEight is keeping track of the number of endorsements that each of the Democratic primary candidates are receiving.
FiveThirtyEight used a points system scaled 10 to 1, with 10 points awarded for endorsements from former presidents or vice presidents as well as current national party leaders, 8 points for governors, 6 for U.S. senators, and lower scores for less notable figures.
In scores updated on Aug. 23, FiveThirtyEight reported Biden at first place with 113 points. Behind him was Harris with 89 points, Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey at 58 points, Warren at 44 points, and Senator Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota at 42 points.
Earlier in July, Warren had 25 points and trailed Sen. Klobuchar, who was not received any new endorsements since that time, according to FiveThirtyEight.
