'The Real Housewives of Orange County' Reunion Special Recap: Vicki Gunvalson Supports Daughter Over Brooks Ayers Allegations
Following years of defending her highly controversial relationship with Brooks Ayers, Vicki Gunvalson is owning up to her mistakes as she revealed in the reunion special of "Real Housewives of Orange County" that she "believes" what her daughter revealed about her ex.
According to the U.S. Magazine, Gunvalson said of her daughter's revelation, "I have to believe it because my daughter said it." She admitted, though, that she didn't believe her daughter Briana Culberson's accusations against Ayers at first. "I didn't want to believe it was even true," she said.
Fans saw how Gunvalson and her daughter had almost broken off their mother-daughter relationship from the beginning of Gunvalson's relationship with Ayers, but this time, it seems the torn bond may have chances of being mended.
People detailed Gunvalson's statements during the reunion episode, and according to the outlet, Gunvalson explained how the most recent breakup between her and Ayers started when she and her ex went to Miami.
After the trip, other conflicts added to the already tainted on-and-off relationship, especially since Culberson has always disapproved of Ayers. Then came Culberson's revelation that Ayers tried to "hit on her" when she was pregnant.
Culberson said Ayers tried to show her his private part during her mother's birthday party — a claim that Gunvalson didn't believe at first. She told her daughter that she was lying and that Ayers wouldn't want Culberson.
Ayers, on the other hand, said in a separate interview that Briana was only manipulating Gunvalson's mind, noting that Culberson's accusation was "typical" of her so she can put her mother "in the middle of a no-win situation.
Culberson, while listening to Ayers' statements, only looked all the more agitated when her mother's ex-beau said she was merely depending on Gunvalson to cover her finances, which is why she has been trying to manipulate her.
Meanwhile, the outlet suggests that one hot topic that may be discussed in the next episode of the special is Ayers' most controversial cancer claim.
"The Real Housewives of Orange County" airs every Monday on Bravo.
