'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' News: FOX Releases New Trailer [WATCH VIDEO]

A TV adaptation of the classic cult film "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" will soon be making its way to the small screens.

The network FOX recently posted a trailer for the reboot of the TV adaptation of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show." The series will star Laverne Cox, who will portray the lead transvestite character. According to Den of Geek, the upcoming adaptation will remain faithful to the original film.

According to Den of Geek, the press release for "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" stated, "Sweethearts Janet (Victoria Justice from Victorious) and Brad (Ryan McCartan from Liv & Maddie and Heathers the Musical) stumble upon flirtatious mad scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter's (Emmy Award-nominated actress Laverne Cox, Orange is the New Black) bizarre abode during his annual Transylvanian science convention to showcase the birth of ROCKY HORROR – a muscle-bound specimen created solely to fulfill Frank's desires."

The upcoming film will feature other stellar stars such as Tim Curry and Staz Nair. Several other celebrities will be taking part in the adaptation, such as Adam Lambert who will play the role of Eddie. "Penny Deadful" star Reeve Carney will take on the role of Riff Raff. Anneleigh Ashford from "Masters of Sex" will play Colimbia while Christina Milian is expected to play the role of Magenta. Ivy Levan and Ben Vereen will play the role of Usherette and Dr. Everett Scott, respectively.

Lambert released a statement about his upcoming involvement in the film, as per Deadline. He stated that he was excited to be part of the adaptation. He said, "I grew up watching Rocky Horror, but could never imagine that I would be part of this new vision. Rocky Horror always made me feel like it was okay to celebrate my weirdness. Hallelujah, bless my soul! I love that old time rock-n-roll!"

There has yet to be any announcement regarding the release of the adaptation.
