'The Shannara Chronicles' News: MTV Renews Series

The hit MTV series "The Shannara Chronicles" has been renewed for another season.

MTV, along with Sonar Entertainment, released the series earlier this year, which is based on the novel by Terry Brooks called "The Shannara Chronicles." The series is produced and writer by Al Gough and Miles Millar.

The series was well received by the veiwers, becoming one of the most successful shows on MTV. It was stated that the series was also one of the top ten series during the spring for the age range of 18-49. The series was also the highest grossing digital download for a single season of the network.

With that, the finale left fans wondering about the fate of the several characters of the series. Fans will soon find out more about their favorite characters when the series returns. MTV recently announced that "The Shannara Chronicles" has been renewed for another season.

The Vice President and Head of Scripted Development in MTV, Mina Lefevre said, "[The Shannara] dream team delivered a beautiful, groundbreaking show with compelling stories and character journeys which brought in new viewers. I can't wait to see what Season 2 brings."

The EVP of Television Series at Sonar Entertainment, Jenna Glazier, also teased fans about the potential of the upcoming season. She explained that fans can expect a more captivating Season 2.

She said, "We're thrilled to continue the momentum established in Season 1. Along with the ongoing support of MTV, the entire creative team is poised to raise the bar even higher in Season 2."

In the meantime, fans can enjoy the premiere season of "The Shannara Chronicles," on the MTV website. In addition, it was reported that "The Shannara Chronicles" will also be available for sale on Blu-Ray.
