'The Shannara Chronicles' Season 2 Spoilers: Can Wil Save the Four Lands Once More?
A year after the elven princess Amberle Elessedil (Poppy Drayton) sacrificed herself to become the new Ellcrys, her lover, the half-human-half-elf Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler), has sworn off magic and has been spending a rather peaceful life as a healer. But when new threats begin to emerge across the Four Lands, his destiny has once again called him to arms on the sophomore season of the fantasy series, "The Shannara Chronicles."
After barely surviving last season's battles, new and much bigger threats are once again closing in on the Four Lands from all directions.
On the one hand, there is General Riga (Desmond Chiam) of The Crimson, who aims to rid the Four Lands of magic and are currently hot on the trails of Wil and his magical Elfstones. On the other, there's Allanon's (Manu Bennett) misguided former apprentice, Bandon (Marcus Vanco), whose increasing power is gradually leading him towards reviving the villainous Warlock Lord.
And then there's the mysterious and seemingly conniving Queen Tamlin (Caroline Chikezie) of the Kingdom of Leah, whom Allanon has warned the young elven king Ander Elessedil (Aaron Jakubenko) against trusting. As shown in the preview for the entire second season, Queen Tamlin will seek to form a true alliance between the elves and Leah by marrying her daughter to King Ander.
Things will undoubtedly come to a head soon enough, and who should be caught right in the middle of it all but the elf-human hybrid, Wil, whom Allanon has tasked to seek and acquire the legendary Sword of Shannara.
Can Wil fulfill his new quest for the sake of the Four Lands? Then again, is he still destined to be the savior for the second time around? Will he eventually be reunited with an old pal, Eretria (Ivana Baquero)? And most importantly, can he really trust his new companion, Mareth Ravenlock (Malese Jow), who claims to be Allanon's daughter?
"The Shannara Chronicles" airs on Wednesdays, 10 p.m. EDT on Spike.
