'The Simpsons' Season 28 Episode 17 Spoilers: Bart a Delinquent No More?
After a flashback episode centered on the Kamp Krusty tradition, "The Simpsons" season 8 will return next week with a brand-new episode, "22 for 30."
In this installment, Lisa will be tasked to cover the successful stint of the Springfield Elementary basketball team for the school paper.
More specifically, she will have to report on the contribution of her brother Bart in the victory as "The Simpsons" season 28, episode 17 will see him transform into a delinquent to a star basketball player overnight.
To make things more familial, Homer steps in to be the coach of the Springfield Elementary basketball team, but things quickly take a turn for the worse.
Unfortunately, Bart might not be able to revel in his huge achievement in "The Simpsons" season 28, episode 17, as he, for some reason, finds himself in a middle of a mess that involves the Mafia.
The school paper will definitely get a kick out of the article that Lisa will produce should it include such juicy material.
However, for now, it is interesting to think about just how the budding basketball superstar engulfs himself in some Mafia trouble come "The Simpsons" season 28, episode 17.
Meanwhile, multiple Emmy Award-winning U.S. writer and producer Mike Reiss, who is one of the original writers for "The Simpsons," sat down with Variety to talk about the show.
Among the topics he discussed is how the show appears to predict events, the latest of which includes the presidency of Donald Trump from the 2000 episode, "Bart to the Future."
"That was just a joke," he quickly said, noting of the time he saw a YouTube video enumerating the predictions made on the show, with Trump being the United States president at the top of the list.
"I thought: 'that's great!' And then number two is about a lemon tree being cut down in France. It drops off very quickly after President Trump," he explained.
"We are not that predictive. Trump is just one of those special cases: sixteen years ago we were thinking: 'what's the dumbest thing America could do, and then they did it!'" he went on to say.
"The Simpsons" season 28, episode 17, "22 to 30," airs Sunday, March 12, at 8:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
